How it works

We try to make it as easy as possible for you to have your Barnsley FC memorabilia photographed. The process just takes a few simple steps:

  1. Make contact by emailing us at: bfc@peoplesvisualhistory.com - please leave your name and contact details

  2. We’ll get back in touch for a chat about what kind of memorabilia you have. No items are too big or too small!

  3. We’ll arrange with you a suitable date/time for Julian Germain to photograph your item/s. This might be at your home, or at Barnsley Football Club, or another location - whatever is most convenient for you.

  4. Julian visits on the pre-arranged date/time and photographs your scrapbooks, photos, flags, banners, whatever momentos you might have relating to the Club. He is also keen to meet and chat about people's connections to Barnsley FC and about the items submitted, to get a better understanding of their history and what they mean to you.

And that’s it. Simple.

Remember, your memorabilia, momentos and photos are yours and stay with you. All we do is make a photographic record of your item/s and add them to a digital archive for the Club. This is so we and future generations can experience this rich visual history.

A richly illustrated new book, Barnsley FC: The People’s Visual History is scheduled to be published in November 2025.

In both the digital archive and book the lenders of the items are credited.
